2017: Our purpose – To live and tell the story of Jesus

11/June/2017: The Ven. Andy Piggott speaks from Matt 28.16-20 on the The Great Commission, to remember always the mission of God – we are those who are sent – to go and make disciples. And wherever we go, each day, we go as Jesus disciples to live and tell his story, to remember that we are His friends and disciples, to grace others with the knowledge of Jesus as we have been graced. Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us. As John Henry Newman said: ‘God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission’. Matt 28.16-20: ‘Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”’
