Updated Covid rules and restrictions- July 2021

Updated Covid rules and restrictions

On the 19th July 2021 the Government relaxed the Covid rules and restrictions that were in place. Part of these changes mean it is no longer a legal requirement to wear face coverings or socially distance yourself from others.

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) met on the 20th July and discussed these changes and how we are going to move forward. We have taken the decision to still encourage the wearing of facial coverings whilst in the church building and encourage social distancing whenever possible. Although it is not now a legal requirement, we still feel it is an appropriate measure to encourage, given that the daily cases of Covid in BANES are very much still on the rise, with case numbers higher than they have been at any other stage during the pandemic.

The government has also announced that there are now no restrictions during communal worship. Tim and the PCC discussed this and feel we can now allow congregational singing during church services, as long as facial coverings are worn.

We understand that people are still nervous, and it does still cause concern for some. Please know that there are a team of prayer warriors that would love to pray for you if you are finding things difficult or would appreciate prayer for another reason.

Please do keep following Government guidance regarding isolating if you or a member of your family are experiencing symptoms or have tested positive.
